August 7th - Bear Canyon

DATE:  August 7th, 2013
TIME:  6:00pm
TRAIL:  Bear Canyon
Bear Canyon is fun for all level of bikers.  The trail is about as wide as an ATV, so in many areas we can even ride two wide... which is great for conversations.  While it is mostly uphill on the way in, it is a fairly gradual uphill in comparison to many of the other trails in the area.  I don't have a good GPS to show of this trail, but it is about 6.5 miles in to the lake (so 13 miles roundtrip), if you make it the entire way.  Since it is an "out and back" - you can pick how far you want to ride. Given the amount of bugs out the last few weeks, you may want to consider bug spray this week. Oh, and the ride back out... ALL SMILES!!

Look at the smiles at the top... what a view!
Justin cruises by Taylor makes it to the top Making it look easy!

It is easy to see why everyone voted to ride Bracket Creek again.  It is our second time riding Bracket Creek up toward Grassy Mountain... and it was a blast!  Great trail, great views, great weather, and tons of smiles! Luckily we had the trail to ourselves, although it would have been fun to see the other biker's face when we said, "17 back!"  What a sweet group!!

GPS:  Here's the GPS from Bracket Creek.
PICTURES: I've included a few of my favorites, but be sure to check out all the RHR Bracket Creek 2 photos.
